High-Intensity LED Arrangement

The LED505-DF36W uses 24 high-intensity chip-type LEDs arranged on both sides of the luminous surface.

This structure provides strong blue-light excitation while helping keep direct light away from the observer and camera.

Dark-Field Illumination System

The dark-field illumination system directs light from the lower left and right sides of the illuminator.

Because the excitation light does not directly enter the camera or observer, fluorescence can be observed with improved contrast.

Dichroic Filter Effect

The dichroic filter cuts unwanted long-wavelength components from the LED light.

Together with the light-absorbing mat, it helps suppress background glow and improve the visibility of weak fluorescence bands.

Removable Orange Observation Cover

The high-contrast orange sharp-cut cover can be attached and removed easily.

It allows observation and gel cutting while reducing excitation light below 560 nm.

Compatible with Pict LaBox and Bio-Pyramid Mini

Pict LaBox Compatible

The LED505-DF36W can be combined with Pict LaBox for gel observation, cutting and image documentation using a digital camera or CCD camera system.

Bio-Pyramid Mini Compatible

The compact Bio-Pyramid Mini can be installed stably on the LED505-DF36W for mini-gel fluorescence imaging and documentation.

LED470 or LED505? Which Model Should You Choose?

Selection Guide Choose LED470-DF36W for blue-light excitable nucleic acid stains such as SYBR Green, SYBR Safe, GelGreen and Midori Green. Choose LED505-DF36W for longer-wavelength green-light excitation dyes such as EtBr, GelRed and SYBR Gold. For protein stains or fluorescent proteins, please check the excitation and emission spectrum of each dye.
