The LED505-DF36W is a 505 nm green LED transilluminator designed for safe,
UV-free fluorescence gel imaging.
It provides efficient excitation for nucleic acid stains with absorption peaks around 490-510 nm, enabling high-sensitivity detection with dyes such as EtBr, GelRed and SYBR Gold.
This model is also compatible with selected protein stains and fluorescent proteins that respond to green-light excitation.

| Dark-field LED Transilluminator, 505 nm green LED | LED505-DF36W | US$ 950 |
The LED505-DF36W uses 24 high-intensity chip-type LEDs arranged on both sides of the luminous surface.
This structure provides strong blue-light excitation while helping keep direct light away from the observer and camera.
The dark-field illumination system directs light from the lower left and right sides of the illuminator.
Because the excitation light does not directly enter the camera or observer, fluorescence can be observed with improved contrast.
The dichroic filter cuts unwanted long-wavelength components from the LED light.
Together with the light-absorbing mat, it helps suppress background glow and improve the visibility of weak fluorescence bands.
The high-contrast orange sharp-cut cover can be attached and removed easily.
It allows observation and gel cutting while reducing excitation light below 560 nm.
The LED505-DF36W can be combined with Pict LaBox for gel observation, cutting and image documentation using a digital camera or CCD camera system.

| What is LED505-DF36W used for? | It is used for UV-free fluorescence excitation in DNA, RNA and electrophoresis gel imaging workflows using 505 nm green-light excitation, especially with longer-wavelength dyes such as EtBr, GelRed and SYBR Gold. |
|---|---|
| Which stains are suitable for this model? | It is optimized for nucleic acid stains with excitation or absorption peaks around 490-510 nm, such as EtBr, GelRed and SYBR Gold. It is also compatible with selected protein stains such as SYPRO Red and Flamingo, and fluorescent proteins such as DsRed and YFP. |
| What is the difference between 470 nm and 505 nm models? | 470 nm models are optimized for blue-light excitable stains such as SYBR Green, SYBR Safe, GelGreen and Midori Green. 505 nm models provide better excitation efficiency for longer-wavelength dyes such as EtBr, GelRed and SYBR Gold. |
| Do I need an emission filter? | Yes. A suitable emission filter is recommended for clear fluorescence imaging. The best filter depends on the stain, camera and imaging workflow. |
