Trinocular photo-port installation depends on the microscope-side camera path. The most important points are the actual port shape, the phototube type, the required sleeve or adapter, and whether the optical path is suitable for DSLR or mirrorless camera imaging.
Select the photo-port type that best matches your microscope. If the port is not clear, please check the physical tube, existing C-mount adapter, phototube markings and insertion diameter before final adapter selection.
A trinocular microscope may use several different camera-port structures. The following examples help identify the likely adapter path before checking detailed mechanical compatibility.
Olympus U-SPT type phototube connections require the appropriate microscope-side sleeve.
Some older Olympus BH series and related microscope systems use a legacy phototube shape. The connection may require a dedicated sleeve.
A JIS standard phototube is typically based on a 23.2 mm inner-diameter
tube path.
Confirm that the tube is straight, mechanically stable and suitable for
microscope adapter.
Nikon microscopes, including systems such as Optiphot-era configurations, may use an
F-type phototube path.
