- PDF Data Sheet: MTAR, JAR
High-performance transparent anti-reflective film for glass and display surfaces. AR film reduces surface reflection to approximately one-tenth when applied correctly.
Two sheet types are available: MTAR with permanent adhesive for stable lamination, and JAR with low-tack adhesive for removable and repositionable applications.

Reflection problems on windows? Difficult to see inside your showcase or display? AR film reduces reflected light and improves visibility. Apply the film to both sides of the glass and reduce reflection to about one-tenth.

Apply AR film on both sides for full performance
Light is reflected at both the front and rear surfaces of glass. Typical surface reflection is approximately 4–5% per side. Applying AR film reduces reflection to approximately 0.5% per side. For best results, apply the film to both sides of the glass.
| Condition | Front | Back | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| No AR film | 5.0% | 5.0% | 10.0% |
| AR film (one side) | 0.5% | 5.0% | 5.5% |
| AR film (both sides) | 0.5% | 0.5% | 1.0% |
Notice: Multi-layered glass (double / triple glazing) requires AR film on all surfaces. For example, double glazing requires application on four surfaces. This is generally impractical and not recommended.

FAQ — AR Film Sheet Type (MTAR / JAR)
What is the difference between MTAR and JAR?
MTAR uses a permanent acrylic-based PSA for stable, long-term lamination. Once applied, it bonds firmly and is not designed to be removed. JAR uses a silicone-based low-tack PSA, making it repositionable and removable — suitable for temporary use or applications where the film may need to be taken off without leaving residue.
Should AR film be applied to one side or both sides of the glass?
For best results, apply to both sides. Untreated glass reflects approximately 5% per surface — about 10% total for both surfaces combined. With AR film on both sides, total reflectance drops to roughly 1%, about one-tenth of the original. Applying to one side alone still reduces reflection, but the untreated surface will continue to reflect.
Can AR film be applied to acrylic or polycarbonate as well as glass?
Both MTAR and JAR adhere well to glass and acrylic (PMMA). MTAR uses an acrylic-based PSA for permanent bonding; JAR uses a silicone-based PSA for low-tack, repositionable use. Application to polycarbonate (PC) is not recommended due to outgassing from the substrate, which can affect adhesion and optical clarity over time. If application to PC is required, proceed at your own risk and conduct sufficient testing beforehand.
Is a free sample available before ordering?
Yes, a business card-sized sample piece is available upon request at no charge. Contact us before placing your order.
