Apply AR film on both sides for full performance
Light is reflected at both the front and rear surfaces of glass.
Typical surface reflection is approximately 4–5% per side.
Applying AR film reduces reflection to approximately 0.5% per side.
For best results, apply the film to both sides of the glass.

Notice:
Multi-layered glass (double / triple glazing) requires AR film on all surfaces.
For example, double glazing requires application on four surfaces.
This is generally impractical and not recommended.
Important Notes
NOTICE 1: SGAR is designed for indoor use only.
Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and UV may cause deterioration.
For outdoor applications, please use UVAR12SG / 15SG-RL.
NOTICE 2: Avoid application on polycarbonate.
Polycarbonate may release gases that can cause bubbles between the film and surface. Acrylic is generally compatible; however, for other plastics,
please test in advance and proceed at your own risk.
NOTICE 3: The AR surface has no protective liner.
Please handle the AR side with extra care during application. Use an appropriate tool such as a squeegee, and avoid fingerprints or scratches on the surface.

FAQ — AR Film Roll Indoor Type (SGAR-RL)

Q What is the difference between SGAR1220-RL and SGAR1500-RL?
A Both are the same indoor AR film — the only difference is width.
SGAR1220-RL is 1220 mm wide; SGAR1500-RL is 1500 mm wide.
Choose based on the width of the glass or surface you need to cover.
Q What is the minimum order quantity?
A The minimum order is 2 meters.
Length can be ordered in any increment from 2 meters up.
Q Can SGAR-RL be used outdoors?
A No. SGAR-RL is designed for indoor use only.
Prolonged UV exposure will cause deterioration of the film.
For outdoor applications, please use UVAR-RL (outdoor type AR film).
Q Can SGAR-RL be applied to acrylic or polycarbonate as well as glass?
A SGAR-RL uses an acrylic-based pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) and adheres well to glass and acrylic (PMMA).
Application to polycarbonate (PC) is not recommended due to outgassing from the substrate, which can affect adhesion and optical clarity over time.
If application to PC is required, proceed at your own risk and conduct sufficient testing beforehand.
Q Does SGAR-RL block UV light?
A Yes. SGAR-RL blocks over 99% of UV light (UV transmittance < 1%).
This makes it effective for protecting artwork, merchandise, and displays from UV-induced fading and deterioration, in addition to reducing reflection.
Q Does SGAR-RL provide any safety benefit if the glass breaks?
A Yes. SGAR-RL has a glass fragment retention (scatter prevention) function. If the glass breaks, the film helps hold fragments together, reducing the risk of injury from flying shards. It meets JIS A 5759 scatter prevention performance standards.
