AR/AGAR Film - How to Apply
Notice |
The following guide only shows one way to apply the film but does not guarantee
that it will work |
perfectly under all conditions. Please try to apply it to a small area
first and at your own risk. |
1. |
Please operate in a clean, dust-free room to prevent dust from sticking
to the adhesive surface. |
2. |
Place the target material (glass/acrylic) on a flat surface. |
3. |
Cut the film to a size larger both horizontally and vertically than the
target. |
4. |
Remove few cm of the separator film from the adhesive side,
and start to attach it to the edge of the target (glass/acrylic). |
5. |
As you remove the separator from the adhesive side, use a rubber roller
(available at hardware stores)
to apply the adhesive side to the target slowly and with constant force
so that no air bubbles remain. |
6. |
Use a soft cloth to press and rub over the separator of the AR side to
blend the adhesive well. |
7. |
After applying the film, turn it over and cut off the excess film with a cutter. |
8. |
Finally, remove separator from AR side.
* Be sure to remove the separator from the AR surface last to protect it
from scratches and dirt. |

Precautions : |
If you remove all separators at once, it will be easier for the dust to
stick to the surface. |
For small air bubbles, gently tap with rubber hummer and it'll disappear. |
Transparent materials such as glass/acrylic have an equal amount of reflection
on the front and
back surfaces. To effectively eliminate reflected light, please apply AR
film on both sides. |
Base of AR film has farm texture and can not be applied to the material
with curvature. |
Wet Application Method : |
AR film can be applied with the wet application too. Please note the following
points when using water. |
Mix a small amount of neutral detergent with clean, dust-free water. |
Remove the separator film from the adhesive side as you applying, |
but do not remove the separator film from the AR side until the work is
completed. |
Use a sprayer to spray water on the target glass/acrylic, |
the adhesive layer of the AR film, and the separator film on the AR side. |
Starting from the edges, use a rubber or plastic spatula to squeeze the
water out from center |
* |
If excess water is left between the target glass/acrylic and the AR film,
air dissolved in the water |
will form bubbles after drying, so it is essential to squeeze out thoroughly
and leave no water. |
* |
Boiling the water eliminates the air dissolved in the water and is an effective
way to avoid air bubbles. |
It will take 1-2 weeks for it to dry completely. During this time, some unevenness may occur, |
but this will disappear when the product is completely dry. |
★ |
For large-size applications, wrinkles, dust, and air bubbles can easily
appear |
even with a wet method, and so we recommend that you seek local contractors. |
Precaution to apply film on the Polycarbonate : |
In rare cases, due to the phenomena called “outgassing,” the polycarbonate itself may emit gas, |
and it will be trapped in between polycarbonate and film, creating an air bubble as a result. |
For this reason, we recommend operating tests before proceeding to polycarbonate
application. |
Please apply small size film and leave it for some time and see if any
bubbles emerge. |
